Bpeacers arriving one by one

Slowly we are all arriving to our Dubai launch pad . . .You can check off Steve, Kate and Marla. Susan due overnight . . .all of us catching the Sunday UN flight . . .Paula and Athena following on Tuesday.

Kate says the place has doubled in size since she was here in February. Whole city sections are literally rising from the sand. The din of construction is everywhere, even on the beach.

Catch you again from Kabul!

You all deserve this brief respite. Enjoy the high thread count sheets, the sun, the service, safe food, a glass of wine, people who speak English, the clean air, clean streets, a warm breeze blowing through your uncovered hair, rice-free food, no knee-high mud...cause in a day...that all changes as you brave Kabul. Ray and I are thinking of you constantly (Ray with jealousy). Relish Dubai.

Hi gang! Am cleaning out old files on my laptop in preparation to come... Lots more packing.... I hate packing! Fortunately I've done a trip to Kabul in the winter once, so it won't be as challenging as last time...

Can't believe I'm flying in less than 48 hours, and you guys are already most of the way there! See you soon!

Hi you guys,

I'm right behind you! I can't wait to join you on Tuesday. Travel safely.

Love,
Athena

Just finished amazing calorie loaded dinner in a tent among the locals. Smoked apple flavored tobacco/charcoal out of 3 foot shisha (aka hookah) while Steve smoked a cigar . . .bad habits return in Dubai . . .thank god this is only a stop over . . .need to get to Kabul fast and start working!

Susan blackberried me in the middle of the night our time that she has arrived safely in Dubai. We are set for our departure!

Athena, you are truly inspiring. Thank you for including me on the news of your latest incredible adventure. The world is a better place because of you and your team, truly. Shelli

Blackberries are working in Dubai?

What a beautiful beach! Seriously, though, I'm really looking forward to following your trip and learning lessons for the Rwanda team. Can't wait to see more pictures. Be safe and have fun!
